what is the classification for mobile phone screen?

Release time:23/06/15

The mobile phone screen or called the display screen, which is used to display images and colors. The screen size is calculated based on the diagonal of the screen, usually in inches (inch), which refers to the length of the diagonal of the screen. Screen material introduction As the color screen of mobile phones becomes more and more common, the material of mobile phone screens becomes more and more important.

The color screens of mobile phones are different due to the difference in LCD quality and R&D technology. Generally speaking, the more colors that can be displayed, the more complex images can be displayed, and the level of the screen is also richer.

According to the screen material, the mainstream screens of smart phones can be divided into two categories, one is LCD (short for Liquid Crystal Display), that is, liquid crystal displays, such as TFT and SLCD screens; the other is OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode (short for Light-Emitting Diode) refers to organic light-emitting diodes, such as AMOLED series screens. The most fundamental difference between LCD and OLED is that OLED is self-luminous, while LCD needs to be illuminated by a backlight to display.

According to the display technology driving mode of the screen, it can be divided into two categories: Passive Matrix and Active Matrix. The difference between a passive matrix and an active matrix lies in the driving mode of the current. When the external current passes, the arrangement of the liquid crystal will change. After the current stops, if the arrangement of the liquid crystal remains non-return to the original position (with memory), it is called an active matrix; and once the current disappears, it will return to the original position, and it must be restored again. The only arrangement that can be charged is called a passive matrix.

TFT screen

TFT (Thin Film Transistor) is a thin film field effect transistor, which is a type of active matrix liquid crystal display. It can "actively" control each individual pixel on the screen, which can greatly improve the response time. Generally, the response time of TFT is relatively fast, about 80 milliseconds, and the viewing angle is large, generally reaching about 130 degrees, which is mainly used in high-end products. The so-called thin film field effect transistor means that each liquid crystal pixel on the liquid crystal display is driven by a thin film transistor integrated thereafter. This can display screen information at high speed, high brightness, and high contrast. TFT is an active matrix liquid crystal display, which is technically driven by an "active matrix" method. The method is to use thin film technology to make transistor electrodes, and use the scanning method to "actively pull" to control the opening of any display point. When the light source is irradiated, the light source first passes through the lower polarizing plate to penetrate upward, and the liquid crystal molecules are used to transmit the light, and the light is shielded and transmitted to achieve the purpose of display.

OLED screen

OLED (Organic Light Emitting Display) is an organic light-emitting display. The OLED display technology is different from the traditional LCD display method. It does not require a backlight. It uses a very thin organic material coating and a glass substrate. When current passes, these organic materials will Glow. The OLED display screen can be made lighter and thinner, has a larger viewing angle, and can significantly save power consumption. Among the two OLED technology systems, low-molecular OLED technology is controlled by Japan, while the technology and patents of polymer PLED (the so-called OEL of LG mobile phones are the products of this system) are controlled by the British technology company CDT. Both Compared with the colorization of PLED products, there are still certain difficulties. Although OLEDs with better technology may replace LCDs such as TFTs in the future, organic light-emitting display technology still has shortcomings such as short service life and difficulty in large-scale screens.
